Nature Park Provincial Domain Atlantikwall Raversyde
From 1 June onwards, you can visit the new photo exhibition ‘Liberation of the coast’ in the freely accessible part of the provincial domain Atlantikwall Raversyde.
2024 is an important commemoration year, as we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Belgian coast. By means of 40 photographs from public institutions and private collections, this exhibition shows how local residents, German soldiers and allied liberators experienced the end of the Second World War on our coast while the war raged on in Europe until May 1945.
Go for a stroll in the nature park and discover a wide range of images: from inundated roads and abandoned bunkers to mine clearance on the beaches, repression against German collaborators and celebrating crowds.
